Argentine experimental rock band SASA performs with local support from Collar de Luna and DJ Lissex at The Six, a 21+ underground night.
SASA (formerly Satana Safana) plays The Six on Thursday, October 29, as part of the Alterlatino series. They're an Argentine experimental rock band led by frontwoman Satana, and the night is 21+. Local support comes from Collar de Luna and DJ Lissex.
Their sound is built on improvisation and collective creation. Dark, Redondos-inspired riffs and stoner-leaning psychedelia meet the hypnotic pulse of 1970s Peruvian cumbia, with synthesizers wrapping everything in a dark, vibrant atmosphere. Esotericism shapes the aesthetic, and the voice and theatricality are the creative drivers. The band describes the cumbia influence as a ritual where the rhythm drags the body and the synths hold it, and they say they don't seek to please but to possess as a way of generating a direct emotion.
