A three-day national conference focused on STEM education, professional development and workforce opportunities for Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands.
AISES is bringing its national conference to the Oregon Convention Center from October 15 to 17, 2026. It's a three-day event, and the convention center is at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd in Portland.
If you're not familiar with the organization, AISES is the American Indian Science and Engineering Society. The conference centers on educational, professional, and workforce development for Indigenous peoples of North America and the Pacific Islands in science, technology, engineering, and math—STEM studies and careers. That's the core of what they do: connecting people in those fields and supporting the next generation coming up behind them.
One thing that's worth knowing upfront is that it's open to anyone who wants to participate and learn, so you don't have to be a STEM professional or a student to get involved. If you're interested in the work they're doing, you're welcome. You will, however, need to register to attend, so that's your first step if you're planning to be there.
