Tuner opens at Plymouth Arts Cinema on Friday 3 July, and it's running through to Thursday 9 July, so you've got a good window to catch it. It's a Canadian-American drama directed by Daniel Roher, 107 minutes long, and it's rated 15.

Leo Woodall plays a young, gifted piano tuner with a hearing so sharp it becomes a liability. He's spent his time tuning Steinways, but that same ear catches the attention of criminals who want to use him for something far less musical: cracking safes. It's a strange jump from concert halls to heists, and the film leans into that. After his musical career stalls, he ends up working in New York under his mentor, Harry Horowitz, played by Dustin Hoffman. While he's there, he meets Ruthie, a composition student, and the two strike up an unexpected connection. The trouble is that his side-hustle as a locksmith starts to bleed into his personal life, threatening the romance and pulling him into something dangerous. It's described as a mix of romance, drama, and the tension of a heist thriller, and the cast includes Woodall, Hoffman, and Havana Rose Liu.

There are four screenings across the run: Friday 3 July at 20:30, Saturday 4 July at 17:30, Tuesday 7 July at 20:30, and Thursday 9 July at 18:00. That last one on Thursday is the descriptive subtitled session.
