Blistering tribute band Totally Blondie, fronted by a Debbie Harry lookalike, celebrate Blondie's music live.
Totally Blondie are playing The Quad Theatre at Plymouth Marjon University on Friday 23 October, from 20:00 to 22:00. They're a professional tribute band fronted by a Debbie Harry lookalike, and the whole set is built around Blondie's music.
What sets them apart from a standard covers act is the range they pull from. They don't just stick to the well-known singles; they work through Blondie's entire recording history, starting with the band's self-titled debut album and continuing right up to their latest releases. You'll hear the early, raw New York sound alongside the more polished stuff from later years, so the set covers the band's evolution rather than just a handful of hits. Among the songs they usually play are 'Hanging On The Telephone', 'Sunday Girl', 'One Way or Another', and 'Atomic'.
There's a fair bit of session experience behind the scenes here, too. The band members have worked with some big names across pop and soul — Katrina and the Waves, Craig David, John Legend, Beverley Knight, Ronan Keating, Chris De Burgh, The Feeling, and D-Ream. That's a wide spread of styles to have in one room, and it's that professional background that carries through into the live show.
