Tony Christie - The Great Farewell Unplugged Tour

Tony Christie plays The Quad Theatre on Sunday 11 October, his final show in the South West as part of The Great Farewell Unplugged Tour. He'll be backed by his full band, and the whole thing is stripped back, so it's a different way of hearing the songs you know.

Christie is a South Yorkshire-born pop balladeer who first made his mark as a '70s easy-listening star. He's best known for Is This the Way to Amarillo? and I Did What I Did for Maria, the two songs that most people associate with him. Beyond the pop records, he's had a long career that's taken him into a few unexpected places: he's played the role of Evita on stage and has collaborated with Jarvis Cocker. This tour pulls from that whole stretch of work, but with the full band playing unplugged, it's a more stripped-down version of the set than his usual shows.

Because this is his final date in the South West, it's the last chance to catch him in the region before the tour moves on. The show starts at 7:00 PM at The Quad Theatre, and tickets are £67.
