The Comedy Store

The Comedy Store is bringing its club night to the Quad Theatre on Friday 18 September, taking the London and Manchester institution on the road to the Marjon campus here in Plymouth.

If the name doesn't ring a bell, it's worth knowing where it comes from. The Comedy Store is one of the UK's most established comedy venues, based primarily in London and Manchester, and it celebrated its 45th year in May 2024. For more than four decades it's been a bit of a hotbed for comic talent, booking names like Clive Anderson, Robin Williams, Paul Merton and Ben Elton. Now the club is taking itself out of the city and bringing its best comics to venues across the country, with the Quad Theatre being one of the stops on the way.

That's the basic format: the club's usual night out, just in a different city. It's a stand-up comedy club night, so you'll get a line-up of comics rather than a single headliner. The Comedy Store describes it as bringing its best acts to cities across the country, so it's the same kind of night you'd find at their permanent venues, just on a tour.

It all goes down at the Quad Theatre on the Marjon campus on Friday 18 September, with the show starting at 7:30pm. Tickets are £20.35, which includes the booking fee.
