Family screening of Toy Story 5 with LUSH bath-bomb workshops and free drop-in colouring sessions, designed to be accessible for neurodivergent audiences.
Toy Story 5 is coming to Plymouth Arts Cinema this summer, with screenings on 28 July, 30 July, 5 August and 6 August. It's the fifth instalment in the Pixar franchise, directed by Andrew Stanton and Kenna Harris, and it brings back the voices of Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and Joan Cusack. The story follows Bonnie, now eight, who's becoming more interested in a high-tech tablet called Lilypad than her toys, setting up a 'Toys vs Technology' conflict that puts the bond between toys and children right at the centre. It runs for 102 minutes.
What makes these screenings a bit different from a standard cinema trip is the format. They're set up as family-friendly and relaxed, with the volume turned down and the lights kept low, so it's a more accessible environment for neurodivergent viewers. There are also free drop-in colouring sessions running alongside the screenings, so the kids have something to do before the film starts.
There's a bit extra on the side, too: a collaboration with LUSH Plymouth. They're running bath-bomb workshops as part of the season, so you can get the kids making their own while you're there. The cinema is at the Arts University Plymouth on Tavistock Place, PL4 8AT.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £4.38 for children, with babies under 12 months going in for free. The LUSH workshops are an extra £7.50 per child. With four dates to choose from across late July and early August, you can pick the one that fits your summer plans.
