Seafest 2026 Angling Session

Seafest 2026 brings an angling session to West Hoe Pier on Saturday 12 September, from 16:00 to 19:00. It's a three-hour slot run by the Plymouth Fishing & Seafood Association, and the whole thing is open to all ability levels, so you don't need to have ever held a rod to get involved. All the equipment is provided, which is the best part — you just turn up and they'll hand you what you need.

Leading the session is Martyn Green, a level 2 tri-discipline angling coach, so you're in safe hands whether you're a complete beginner or you've fished a bit before. The session is run by the Plymouth Fishing & Seafood Association in collaboration with Devon Fishing Guides, and it's one of the many events that make up Seafest, the city's annual seafood festival.

Seafest is one of Plymouth's headline celebrations of seafood and the coastal lifestyle, and it sits alongside the other big dates in the city's calendar, like the British Firework Championships, Pirates Weekend Plymouth, Flavour Fest and Red Bull Up The Mast. This session is part of that wider festival, so it's one of several things happening around the city that weekend.

The session runs from 16:00 to 19:00 at West Hoe Pier, Grand Parade, West Hoe, Plymouth, PL1 3DQ. It costs £30 per participant plus a booking fee, and since all the gear is sorted for you, that's all you need to bring.
