Live music sessions featuring The Other Woman and Manuka Groove Trio as part of the New Music 2026 strand.
Manuka Groove Trio and The Other Woman are playing at Old Town Square on Saturday 5 September, part of the Saturday Sessions that run on the first Saturday of every month from April to September. The square is on Old Town Street in the city centre, just outside Drake Circus (PL1 3LU).
The Saturday Sessions are part of the Live at the Amphitheatre programme, run by Plymouth Culture, Plymouth City Centre Company and Plymouth Music CIC. They sit within the wider New Music 2026 strand, which supports local talent aged 16 to 25. Each selected artist gets a development package: a paid live performance, a professional recording and mixing of a single at DBS Studios, a release workshop and mentoring from producer Grace Lightman.
The 2026 cohort covers indie, folk, pop, rock, electronic and Americana, and includes Bobbieee, Colour TV, Evelyn Shaw, Holloway, Iris Lee, Olly Skinner, Ruby Thomas and The Other Woman. The Other Woman are an all-female, three-piece dream pop band from Cornwall, and they're one of the acts coming through this programme. Their influences run from The Cranberries and The Sundays to Cocteau Twins and Big Thief — that puts them in the melodic, atmospheric end of indie pop, with a sound that leans more towards the ethereal than the guitar-heavy. Their first album, Eternally..., came out in February 2024, and they've played Boardmasters between 2023 and 2025.
