Mad Dog Mike and Friends

Mad Dog Mike and Friends is on Friday 11 September at the Green Taverners, the marquee at Home Park in the Mayflower Quarter. It's a showcase that puts several local acts on the same stage, so the bill runs from original material to popular covers across the night. Creative Edge Events are behind it.

Richard James opens with original songs from his solo album The Retreat, alongside a wide range of popular covers. Then comes C Force — Rob Congdon, George Comer, Adam Glanville and Zac Gribble — who play around 95% original music. The Plymouth folk band Mad Dog Mcrea follow, blending folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz and bluegrass, with a guest appearance from Jack O'Rourke.

Between them, the night covers a fair bit of ground: James' solo songs and covers, C Force's original set, and Mad Dog Mcrea's mix of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz and bluegrass. The Green Taverners is the marquee at Home Park in the Mayflower Quarter, and they'll be serving hot dogs and pasties on the day. Tickets are £8 per person, and the music starts at 19:00.
