Live Music Night at Minerva Inn

The Minerva Inn is starting up The Minerva Acoustic Jam Night, an open acoustic session that kicks off on Thursday 1 October. It's a weekly thing, so it'll be on every Thursday from then on, starting at 19:00.

The night is built around the pub's on-site piano, which does the heavy lifting for the session. The repertoire goes from traditional shanties to modern covers, and the room is open to anyone who wants to bring along a guitar, accordion, mandolin, violin or any other instrument and join in. If you're not playing, you can still come and sing along.

Because it's an open session, the music changes depending on who turns up. One week might lean more towards the shanties, the next towards the covers, and it's the mix of instruments that shapes the sound on the night. The piano is always there, and the rest comes from whatever people bring with them.

The Minerva Inn is at 31 Looe Street, The Barbican, Plymouth, Devon PL4 0EA. The session starts at 19:00 every Thursday from 1 October.
