Six-month series of workshops for home educating families, bringing historical and cultural enquiry experiences to 7-11 year olds.
The Box is running a new series of Home Educator Workshops for home-educated young people, with the first session on Thursday 10 September. It's a six-month programme, so it's not just a one-off afternoon — it's a proper sequence of workshops that runs across half a year, rather than a single date you drop into.
The sessions are built around historical and cultural enquiry, and they're aimed at 7-11 year olds. That's the primary group they're working with, though the wider programme is being piloted for home-educated young people from Key Stage 1 right through to Key Stage 5, so there's a broader age range in the mix across the whole project. The focus for this particular set is on the 7-11s, with the enquiry part being the core of it — looking at history and culture through a hands-on, questioning approach rather than just listening to a talk.
