A fundraising challenge where participants abseil from the rooftop of Derriford Hospital to support Plymouth Hospitals Charity.
The Derriford Abseil is back at Derriford Hospital on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September, with the whole thing running from 09:00 to 17:00 on both days. It's the Plymouth Hospitals Charity's most thrilling fundraising challenge: you abseil from the rooftop of the hospital, taking in views across the city and Dartmoor before you make your descent.
The money raised goes to the charity, which uses it to buy cutting-edge equipment, improve patient areas and support NHS staff across University Hospitals Plymouth. There's no minimum age to take part, though 12 or over is recommended for equipment fit, and under-16s have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The harnesses fit waist sizes between 58cm (22") and 120cm (47").

You can choose to abseil on either the Saturday or the Sunday, so you only need to pick one of the two days. There's a suggested fundraising target of £75 for every person taking part. Early bird entry is £20 until 31 July, then it goes up to the standard £25. The hospital is at Derriford Road, Crownhill, Plymouth PL6 8DH.
