Comedy at Union Corner - Will Skillington (W.I.P)

Will Skillington brings his debut hour-long comedy show to Union Corner on Thursday 30 July, from 19:00 to 22:30. It's a work-in-progress, so you're seeing the material while it's still being shaped, and there's a Q&A after the show.

Skillington is a musical comedian, and the set reflects that. He describes it as a mix of chaos, music, loops, guitars, and 1980s Casio keyboards, with loop pedals and a fondness for owls woven in. The show doesn't have a final title yet—it's working under the provisional There's Freedom In (a) Routine or Performative Male.

There's a fair bit of history behind the name. He spent his first 39 years in Bristol as Will Edwards, where he played in bands like Bronze Age Fox, Minotaur Shock, and The Radiant Sounds of Dust, and ran the promotion company A Press of Suspects—which he still heads up. He moved to Plymouth in late 2017 and started doing comedy in 2018, then took a two-year break before returning to the stage under this new name. He describes himself as a 'Willtordian Ballorian Edwardian'.
