Free concert in which Christopher Mark Jones and a new troupe of musicians play selections from his French-language album 'Montréal Encore'.
Christopher Mark Jones returns to City of Asylum on Wednesday, October 28, for a celebration of his French-language album Montréal Encore. He first premiered the record at the venue back in March 2023, this time with collaborator Bernard Pozier. This encore is a reimagining: he's back with a new troupe of fellow musicians who put a diverse spin on the original compositions and fold in a few new mixes for a brand new experience.
The set draws from Montréal Encore but doesn't stop there. Jones mixes in songs from Québécois, French Caribbean, and Parisian singer-songwriters, including Boris Vian, Michel Rivard, Louis Aragon, and Henri Salvador. It's a French-language night that pulls from a few different corners of the Francophone world, so you'll hear his own material alongside those names.
