Alternative multimedia band The Quiet Loud play Crafthouse Stage & Grill, supporting headliner Passion Mango.
The Quiet Loud play Crafthouse Stage & Grill on Tuesday, October 20, supporting Passion Mango. It's an all-ages show, so you can bring whoever you want along.
If you haven't come across them yet, The Quiet Loud are a Pittsburgh alternative multimedia band. They describe their sound as sitting somewhere between Radiohead, Glass Animals, Built to Spill and Pink Floyd, crossed with 90s hip-hop rhythm grooves and sixties soul melodies. That's a lot of ground to cover in one set, and it gives you a decent sense of what they're pulling from. The Radiohead and Pink Floyd side points toward the more atmospheric, psychedelic end of things, while the hip-hop grooves and soul melodies keep it grounded in something you can actually move to. It's a wide net, and the multimedia part of their description suggests there's more to the show than just the music.
Their work spans psychedelic rock, psych folk and trip-hop, and they first started drawing reviews in 2020. That trip-hop element explains where those hip-hop rhythms fit inβit's that slow, beat-driven sound that lets the more psychedelic textures breathe. Between the folk and the rock, they've built a sound that doesn't stay in one place for long, and this show is a chance to hear it all together on one stage.
