A 21+ celebration of community and culture with food from immigrant-owned restaurants, dancing, drinks and an awards ceremony.
The Neighborhood Nosh is back on Thursday, October 22, at The Maverick (120 S Whitfield St), from 7 PM to 9:30 PM. It's the biggest event of the year for Hello Neighbor, a 21+ celebration of community, culture, and cuisine that brings together the organization's immigrant and refugee neighbors and its supporters. The night is built around food from local immigrant-owned restaurants, dancing, drinks, and an awards ceremony honoring community partners.
The food comes from five different spots: Caribbean Food Snacks, El Colibri, Malaysian Kitchen, Maissa's Kitchen, and People's Indian Restaurant. The music is provided by the Thanakarn Limtham Trio. Between the food and the dancing, there's an awards ceremony recognizing three honorees: Representative Lindsay Powell as New Neighbor Advocate, Golden Bone Pet Resort as Good Neighbor, and Joanne Goodall as Volunteer of the Year.
Beyond the party, there's a practical side to the evening. Every ticket and donation goes directly to Hello Neighbor's core services, which provide resource navigation for immigrant and refugee neighbors here in Pittsburgh. So the food and the dancing are the draw, but the money goes toward the work the organization does year-round.
