Interactive courtroom drama in which the audience serves as the jury and votes throughout the show to decide the verdict in a trial about a driverless car.
The Jury Experience opens at the New Hazlett Theater on January 9, 2027, and runs through February 7. It's an immersive courtroom drama that puts you in the jury box: you sit there, weigh the evidence, listen to the testimony, and vote throughout the show to decide the verdict. The case centers on a driverless car that makes a split-second choice to avoid one collision, which ends up causing a fatal one. The evidence shows the system worked exactly as it was designed, and the trial asks who pays the price: the programmer who wrote the code, the passenger who trusted the machine, or the AI that made the call.
Agustina Videla and Pablo Destito handled the script, staging, and creative direction. The show has played in more than 40 cities and carries a 4.5 to 5-star rating. It's being staged at the New Hazlett, which describes itself as an incubator for artists that provides a nurturing, collaborative environment for creators. The theater introduces new 60-minute experiences each season, and this is the one for the winter.
