Local folk artist Olive Cramer shares the stage with The Elastics and Christina's Trip at The Government Center.
Olive Cramer plays The Government Center on Tuesday, October 20, with The Elastics and Christina's Trip on the bill. It's a local night for the most part, with Cramer leading the way.
Cramer is a 16-year-old folk artist from Pittsburgh who's been playing music all her life and started writing her own songs at 13. She's won several awards for her songwriting and plays regularly around the city, so if you've been following the local scene, you've likely seen her name pop up. Her sound draws on Belle and Sebastian, Camera Obscura, Elliott Smith, 10,000 Maniacs, and Lucy Wainwright Rocheβa list that puts her in the melodic, lyric-driven end of indie pop. People often compare her to Radiohead, Clairo, Lush, and Iron & Wine, which covers a fair bit of ground between folk and dreamier indie territory.
Sharing the bill is Christina's Trip, who are touring in from Oakland, California, playing alongside local acts. The Elastics are on the lineup as well, making it a three-act night.
