Family sci-fi comedy in which a girl is whisked away into a video-game galaxy of robots, aliens and pirates and must use her real-world strengths to find a new home.
Offworld: A Space Adventure opens at Three Stories on Friday, October 23, and runs through Sunday, November 1. It's a family comedy presented by Proud Peacock Productions, and the story follows Zoey, a girl struggling to settle in after moving away from home. When a new friend invites her to game night, she's whisked away into a sci-fi world full of robots, aliens, pirates, witches and more. To survive this imaginary galaxy, she has to draw on her own real-world strengths to make friends, overcome obstacles and find a new place to call home.
It's a family-friendly show, so it's one you can bring the kids to. The story works on two levels: the sci-fi adventure on the surface, and the more grounded struggle of a kid trying to find her footing in a new place. If you've ever had to start over in a new city or school, that's the part that'll hit closest to home.
