Live R&B concert by Lyfe Jennings, with live guitar, bass and piano, at City Winery Pittsburgh.
Lyfe Jennings plays City Winery Pittsburgh on Friday, October 30. He's an R&B singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist known for a gritty, soulful voice and raw storytelling. He's often described as a socially minded R&B singer, and his music blends soul, gospel, and hip-hop, performed with live guitar, bass, and piano.
Jennings was born Chester Jermaine Jennings in Toledo, Ohio, in 1978. He spent ten years in prison for arson as a teenager, and his debut album, Lyfe 268-192, came out in 2004, named after his prison inmate number. That record produced the hits "Must Be Nice" and "Stick Up Kid." The gold-certified The Phoenix followed in 2006, and Lyfe Change came out in 2008. Later on, he appeared on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta from 2015 to 2016, and he married model Gwendolyn Scharkowski in 2016.
