Free guided tour led by 59th Carnegie International artist Brooke O'Harra that invites visitors to respond to works of art through limited physical movement.
Brooke O’Harra leads a guided tour at the Carnegie Museum of Art on Saturday, Oct. 31, at 10:30 AM. The tour, titled How Art Moves Us, asks visitors to respond to works of art through limited physical movement. O’Harra worked with the museum's docents to build the experience, which focuses on what might make a viewer move toward a piece and what they're feeling in that moment.
O’Harra is one of the artists in the 59th Carnegie International, the exhibition the museum stages every four years. It's the longest-running exhibition of international art in North America, and this edition is described as the most collaborative and far-reaching to date. The tour is part of the programming surrounding it.
Beyond the museum, O’Harra is a professional theatre director and artist. She co-founded the NYC company Theatre of a Two-headed Calf in 1999 and has created works like Echo Chamber and the eight-hour performance Time Passes. Her research culminated in the essay book Who Is In the Room?, published by Routledge Performance Series in 2025.
