Weekly Friday night show in which the Bridge Crew of the USS Yes, Andromeda improvise a sci-fi space adventure, encountering aliens and mediating intergalactic disputes.
Laugh Long and Prosper is back at Arcade Comedy Theater on Friday, October 23. It's a fully improvised space adventure staged in the style of a favorite sci-fi show, and it runs every Friday night at 6:30 PM.
The show follows the bridge crew of the USS Yes, Andromeda as they explore the galaxy, encounter new aliens and cultures, and mediate intergalactic disputes. Along the way, the crew learns about life, themselves, and each other. Because it's improv, the running questions only get resolved in the moment. You might wonder if the curmudgeonly doctor will finally find love, or if an alien probe will threaten to destroy the Earth unless the crew travels back to the mid-1990s to capture two humpback whales. Since nothing is scripted, you never know which way the plot will swing.
Arcade Comedy Theater has been downtown Pittsburgh's home for live comedy since 2013. They program improv, stand-up, and sketch every weekend and run a wide range of formats, including the home-grown House Team Hot Spot, the Stand-Up Lab, and the queer-centered open mic 'Got Rights?'. The venue operates a BYOB policy: guests 21 and over can bring a six-pack or a bottle of wine for a $5 per person corkage fee.
