Free craft bazaar celebrating the creativity of Pittsburgh's refugee and immigrant communities, with photographs from the Study Buddy Program in the Art Theater.
Hello Neighbor is hosting a craft bazaar and storytelling program at the Carnegie Museum of Art on Saturday, November 14, from 11 AM to 3 PM. The day is co-presented by Hello Neighbor, and the whole thing is free—you don't even need museum admission to get in.
The bazaar takes its cue from the Silät weavers collective, whose work is featured in the 59th Carnegie International. It's set up as a marketplace that celebrates the creativity, entrepreneurship, and cultural traditions of Pittsburgh's refugee and immigrant communities. But it's meant to be more than just a place to buy things; the organizers describe it as a space to gather, exchange ideas, and see how neighbors build community together.
Once you've had your fill of the bazaar, you can head over to the Art Theater for the storytelling side of the day. There, you'll find photographs taken by youth in Hello Neighbor's Study Buddy Program, offering intimate perspectives on life in Pittsburgh. Those photos are shown alongside archival materials that document refugee experiences in the city spanning nearly ninety years, so you get the current view and the long history in the same room.

It's a single afternoon that pulls from two different parts of the museum—the bazaar and the theater—and connects them through the stories of the people who've made Pittsburgh home. It runs from 11 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, November 14, and it's free.
