Debut show of 'Garfield Music Dot Com', a Garfield-themed punk rock opera that mixes original songs, comedy by Alyssa Moon and emceeing by Vito Cappelletti.
Garfield Music Dot Com makes its debut at The Government Center on Monday, October 19. It's a strange one on paper: a Garfield-themed punk/rock opera. The show is built around original songs, a visual projector, acting and props, all working together to build a live show around the world of Garfield. It's billed as an immersive performance experience, and the description leans more on the mix of music and comedy than a straight concert format. This Pittsburgh date is its debut show.
The night doesn't start and end with the main act. Comedy comes from Alyssa Moon, and Vito Cappelletti—who also goes by Johnny Ruggiero—emcees the evening. Between the two of them, the music is framed by a full comedy set and a host to keep things moving, so it's as much a night of variety as it is a single show.

If you're heading over, the venue is The Government Center, 715 East Street on the North Side. Doors open at 7 PM and the show starts at 8 PM. Since it's a Monday night, it's a good one to keep on the radar for a weeknight out.
