World premiere sequel to 'Fishy Woo Woo' in which a group of elder millennial friends in Delaware face the ghosts of their past on Halloween.
Monteze Freeland's Fishy Woo Woo, Part 2 is having its world premiere at the Carter Woodson Redwood Theater in the Madison Arts and Entertainment Center, running from October 16 through November 1. It's a comedy about a group of elder millennial friends facing the ghosts of their past, and it picks up two years after the first Fishy Woo Woo, which onStage Pittsburgh called "sitcom-ready with lots of heart."
In the first play, the crew was in Atlanta. By the time Part 2 starts, they've fled the city and settled into a quiet life in Delaware—or so they think. When Halloween rolls around, what starts as a night of laughs, costumes, and cocktails turns into a scandalous showdown. Char is at the center, pregnant and keeping a tight lip about who the father is, until someone unexpected shows up ready to stir the cauldron. From there, it's tricks, treats, and total mayhem as the group finally comes face-to-face with the ghosts of their past.
Freeland wrote the play, and Lovell McFadden is directing. The cast includes Cheryl Bates White, David Minniefield, Emmanuel Elliot, Key Ethan Davis, Butler Manny Walker, and Mils James. The production runs about two hours and 15 minutes with one intermission, and it contains adult themes and language—no one under 14 is admitted.
