Four-course wine tasting training seminar taught by a professional chef, with additional sessions on October 28, November 4 and November 11.
Discover the World of Wine kicks off at the Dormont Public Library on Wednesday, October 21, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. It's a four-course wine tasting training seminar, and the first session is just the start of a month-long series. The following three sessions run on October 28, November 4, and November 11, so you can drop in for one or stick with the whole thing.
Each session is led by a professional chef, which puts this a bit beyond your average tasting. Instead of just sipping and nodding, you're getting a training seminar that pairs the wine with food, and having a chef at the helm means you'll likely walk away with some actual knowledge about how to match flavors rather than just a list of labels. It's a slow build over four weeks, so the more sessions you attend, the more you'll get out of it.

Registration is required, and you have to be 21 to join. If you're just dipping your toe in, a single session is $45. If you're in for the full run, you can take all four for $165, which knocks $15 off the total. The library is at 2950 West Liberty Avenue in Pittsburgh, and the first session runs from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 21.
