Annual Catholic Charities tasting evening of bourbon, wine and non-alcoholic drinks with raffles and auctions to support St. Joseph House of Hospitality.
Catholic Charities is bringing back Pour with a Purpose on Thursday, October 22, at the Rivers Club downtown. It's their annual tasting event, and this year it runs from 6 PM to 8:30 PM at 301 Grant Street, Suite 411.
The night is built around three different tasting stations: bourbon, wine, and non-alcoholic options. You can work your way through all three, so if you're not a drinker, there's still a full spread for you. Alongside the tastings, they'll have raffle and auction packages going throughout the evening, so you can walk away with more than just a few new favorites.
There's a specific cause behind the ticket. The proceeds from the night go to St. Joseph House of Hospitality, Catholic Charities' residence in the Hill District. It's a shelter for men over 50, providing them with a place to stay and a bit of dignity while they're on their feet. If you've spent any time in the Hill District, you know how much a stable place to sleep matters for people in that position, and that's exactly what this supports.
