Emily Kinkead and Joe Aguglia are facing off at Northgate High School on Thursday, October 22, for a candidate forum on Pennsylvania House District 20. Kinkead is running as a Democrat and Aguglia as a Republican, and the two will spend the evening answering questions about where they stand on the issues facing the district.
It's a bipartisan affair from the start. The forum is hosted by Make Voters the Donors, with the Republican Committee of Allegheny County and the Avalon and Bellevue Democratic Committees co-hosting. That means both sides of the aisle are putting their weight behind it, rather than one party running the show. Moderating the conversation is Jon Delano, a political analyst with KDKA, who'll keep the discussion moving and make sure both candidates get their say.
The evening is built around two parts. It kicks off at 6 PM with a candidate meet and greet, which is your chance to say hello and talk to Kinkead and Aguglia one-on-one before things get formal. From 6:45 to 7:45, the moderated debate takes over, with Delano leading the questioning. The night wraps up with final remarks from each candidate, so you'll hear their closing arguments before the room clears.
