High school football classic between Hopewell and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart (OLSH) at F.N.B. Stadium, marking the return of football to the venue.
Hopewell and Our Lady of the Sacred Heart face off at F.N.B. Stadium on Saturday, October 17, at 7 PM. It's part of the 412 Football Classic, a new showcase launched by the stadium and the Riverhounds Sports Group to bring Western Pennsylvania high school football to the South Shore home of the USL champion Pittsburgh Riverhounds.
This is the inaugural edition of the series, and it marks the first time football has returned to F.N.B. Stadium since 2018, when the venue hosted WPIAL contests, the Pittsburgh Passion women's football team, and the University of Pittsburgh's Spring Game. Stadium President Jeff Garner says the goal is to turn it into an annual tradition, giving local teams the chance to play on a professional stage. The whole weekend spreads six programs across three nights, with tickets sold separately by game and school-branded merchandise on hand.
For Moon Area, the series has a particular weight: the team is playing without a home stadium in 2026 while renovations are underway, so its athletes are taking in games at different unique venues throughout the year. Hopewell and OLSH are two of the teams stepping onto the turf as part of that rotation.
