Concert by Yaelokre, a minstrel and storybook illustrator, with special guest Ben Caplan at the Crescent Ballroom.
YAELOKRE plays the Crescent Ballroom on Wednesday, December 16, with special guest Ben Caplan. It's a Live Nation presentation, and the night is for ages 16 and over.
YAELOKRE is a minstrel and storybook illustrator whose work centers on a world they call Meadowlark. Their album of the same name is described as a vibrant world full of story and song, and that's the project they'll be bringing to the stage. Originally from Manila in the Philippines, they play in a folk style, and the Meadowlark album serves as the foundation for the set.
Opening the night is Ben Caplan, a Canadian folk troubadour from Hamilton, Ontario. He's known for a booming baritone voice and a stage presence that blends Eastern European folk with North American blues. His acclaimed albums include Old Stock and The Flood, released in 2025, and he earned Drama Desk nominations for Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story. Between the two, you've got a folk night that pulls from the Philippines, Canada, Eastern Europe, and the blues.
