Concert by The Wildwoods, a folk-Americana trio from Lincoln, Nebraska, at the Crescent Ballroom.
The Wildwoods play the Crescent Ballroom on Monday, November 2, at 8 PM. They're a folk-Americana trio from Lincoln, Nebraska, and this is their fourth album, Dear Meadowlark, which came out on April 11, 2025. The record draws on the pull of their home state, and they cite Nickel Creek, Gillian Welch, Bon Iver and Mumford & Sons as influences.
There are three of them on stage: Noah Gose on vocals and guitar, Chloe Gose on vocals and violin, and Andrew Vaggalis on vocals and upright bass. With all three singing, the vocal harmonies are a good part of what they do. The violin and upright bass keep the sound rooted in folk, and the lyrics are where they put their focus.
They've spent the last few years picking up songwriting awards. They were finalists in the 2024 Rocky Mountain Songwriter Contest, and in the 2023 FreshGrass and VHS 'Gems in the Rough' competitions. Two of their songs, 'Untitled' and 'Way of Train', were semi-finalists in the International Songwriting Competition. Dear Meadowlark is their fourth album, so they've been at this for a while.
