An evening of brilliant brass music with classic and original holiday arrangements by the renowned Canadian Brass brass quintet.
Canadian Brass play the Musical Instrument Museum on Thursday, December 10, with two showtimes: 4:30 PM and 7:30 PM. It's a holiday program, so expect a mix of classic holiday arrangements and some of their own original takes on the season's favorites.
If you're not familiar with them, Canadian Brass is a brass quintet that's been around since 1970. They've spent over five decades bringing brass music to a wide audience, and the numbers back it up: more than 130 albums in their discography and over 2 million copies sold. They keep a heavy touring schedule that takes them all over the world, so they're used to playing for different crowds in different cities. Critics have called them the "gold standard" among brass quintets, and the Washington Post once credited them with putting brass music on the map. That's a fair amount of ground to cover for a group that started as five players in a room.
This stop is part of the museum's 2026 Concert Series, which is sponsored by Sanderson Lincoln and produced with Producer's Circle member Tom G. The two showtimes on the same day give you a choice between a late-afternoon matinee or a proper evening out, and since it's a holiday set, it's the kind of thing that works just as well as a standalone outing as it does as a way to kick off the season's celebrations.
