The Tony Award-winning musical about the women who won the right to vote, presented by The Phoenix Theatre Company.
Suffs opens at The Phoenix Theatre Company on Wednesday, October 21, and runs through Sunday, November 29. It's the Tony Award-winning musical with a book and score by Shaina Taub, and the Phoenix Theatre is presenting it under special arrangement with Music Theatre International.
The show tells the true story of the women who fought for the right to vote. It follows suffragist icons like Alice Paul, Carrie Chapman Catt, Inez Milholland, Ida B. Wells, Susan B. Anthony, and Sojourner Truth, alongside the young activists who carried the movement forward. The tagline sums it up: "The vote was not given, it was won. These are the women who made it happen."
It's a long run, so you've got plenty of time to fit it in. Most nights are 7 PM, with 1:30 PM matinees on the weekends. There are two special performances to keep in mind: a Community Night on Sunday, October 25, at 7 PM, and an ASL/Audio Describe Night on Friday, November 13, at 7 PM. The show runs 2 hours and 20 minutes, which includes one 15-minute intermission.
