Stephen Bishop returns for his farewell tour, celebrating the 50th anniversary of his landmark 1976 debut album 'Careless', with special guest David Wilcox.
Stephen Bishop is coming to the Musical Instrument Museum on Saturday, March 13, 2027, at 7:30 PM. He'll be joined by an all-star band, with David Wilcox opening the show. It's part of a farewell tour that brings him out of retirement.
The tour marks the 50th anniversary of his 1976 debut album, Careless, released through Universal Music Group. That record established him as one of the most distinctive voices of his generation and featured contributions from Eric Clapton, Art Garfunkel, and Chaka Khan. It also produced the Billboard Hot 100 hit "On and On," which Keith Urban later covered. The anniversary edition of Careless is coming out as a vinyl-only pressing remastered by Bernie Grundman, with a newly colorized cover, a 20-page booklet, and two previously unreleased bonus tracks. The show mixes the hits with the stories behind them.
Across a prolific career, Bishop has written more than 650 songs, released 20 albums, and sold more than 15 million records. His compositions have been covered by more than 75 major artists, including Phil Collins, Barbra Streisand, Beyoncé, and Pavarotti. "Separate Lives," recorded by Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin, topped the Billboard charts at number one. He's also an Oscar nominee and a two-time Grammy nominee.
