Space-themed rock music with 360-degree planetarium visuals in the Dorrance DOME, a high-energy celebration of human spaceflight.
Skyview Space Rock Band is playing the Arizona Science Center on Thursday, October 15, and Friday, October 16, with shows at 6 PM and 8:30 PM both nights. The whole thing takes place inside the Dorrance DOME, the center's planetarium, so you're lying back under a 360-degree screen rather than standing in a club. Each show runs an hour.
Skyview is a space-themed rock band that writes and produces its concerts specifically for planetariums. They pair original music with sweeping visuals that fill the dome and trace the history of human spaceflight, so the music and the images are built to work together. Over the last five years they've played science centers across the country, including sold-out dome shows at the Frost Planetarium in Miami and the Museum of Science and History in Jacksonville. Their work honors real missions, real astronauts, and the spirit of human discovery, and they describe the show as a high-energy celebration of that spirit. It's family-friendly, features a drum solo they say always brings the house down, and gives you a chance to meet the band after the set.
