Protomartyr, the Detroit post-punk outfit, perform live at the Crescent Ballroom with support from Accessory.
Protomartyr are playing the Crescent Ballroom on Monday, October 19, as part of the North American leg of their Hotel Usona world tour. The Detroit post-punk outfit is fronted by Joe Casey, and they're bringing along Accessory, a Chicago indie/alternative/electronic act, to open the night.
Hotel Usona is the band's seventh album, released September 25, 2026, on Domino. It was produced by Dave Fridmann at Tarbox Road Studios in western New York, with horns by Jon Fridmann. The record finds Casey, Greg Ahee, Alex Leonard, and Scott Davidson drawing on the Middle East and 1950s exotica. Casey describes the country as an aging hotel, each song a room haunted by its own troublesome guest.
Iggy Pop called Casey "blessed with a beautiful voice" and described the record as "Wagnerian." The tour brings that material to the stage, with the band playing through the new songs alongside their older work. Accessory handles the opening slot, bringing their Chicago-based indie and electronic sound to the bill.
