Concert by the New York City rock'n'roll band Pretty Sick, with special guest Sex Week, at the Crescent Ballroom.
Pretty Sick play Crescent Ballroom on Tuesday, November 24, with Sex Week opening the night. It's a New York City rock'n'roll band, and they're coming to Phoenix from the East Coast for this one. The show is presented by Live Nation Presents.
Pretty Sick is a trio: Ella on guitar and vocals, Eva on drums, and Sabrina on bass and vocals. They describe their sound as ranging from punk and alternative to dream punk, and that's a fair way to put it. The punk side is the energy and the drive; the alternative side is the songwriting; and the dream punk is where things get a bit more atmospheric and hazy. It's a sound that can shift between the two without losing its footing, and having two members on vocals means they can lean into the melodies as much as the noise.
Sex Week opens the bill, so you'll get two bands in one night. The show is for ages 16 and over, which keeps it open to a younger crowd. If you're coming from outside the city, the venue is at 308 N 2nd Ave in downtown Phoenix.
