Adults-only evening of costumes, cocktails, and playful exploration at the Children's Museum, featuring DJ music, food trucks, and interactive exhibits.
Children's Museum of Phoenix is hosting Play Date: Costumes & Cocktails on Saturday, October 17, from 7 PM to 11 PM. It's the museum's signature adults-only night, and the pitch is as simple as it sounds: wear a costume and come play like a kid again. The whole place transforms into an adult playground for the evening, with three floors of interactive exhibits open to explore.
There's a lot to do beyond the exhibits. Shuffle House Entertainment provides the DJ and dancing, and there's a silent disco and glow foam to keep things moving. For food, Mi AmorΓ© Wood-Fired Pizza and Kabobski Desserts will be on site, and Dragoon Brewing Co. and Outlaw Light Beer are handling the craft beer. You'll also find retro board games, candy bar bingo, and glitter tattoos. The night's center of attention is the costume contest, which crowns Best Couple, Most Creative, and Best Overall.
Bars are set up on each of the three floors, serving craft beer and signature cocktails. The museum describes the night as their way of turning the space into the ultimate adult playground, and the costume contest is a good place to start if you're wondering how far to take the outfit. Just keep in mind that you have to be 21 or older to get in, and food and drinks are sold separately.
