The Phoenix Boys Choir opens its 2026-27 season with Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, plus holiday favorites, performed with soloists and a chamber orchestra.
The Phoenix Boys Choir opens its 2026-27 concert season at the Musical Instrument Museum on Friday, December 18, at 7:30 PM. The center of the evening is Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, a work for SATB choir and harp that marks its Phoenix debut. The choir pairs it with other holiday favorites, and the whole program is performed alongside soloists and a chamber orchestra.
Britten's A Ceremony of Carols is a timeless piece written for a mixed choir and harp, and this is the first time it's being performed here in Phoenix. The addition of the chamber orchestra and soloists expands the sound beyond the original harp-and-voice pairing, so the evening moves from the more intimate, focused texture of the Britten piece into a broader holiday program. The choir's pure voices have been described by a BroadwayWorld review as a special joy to the holiday season.

The performance is part of the 2026 Concert Series sponsored by Sanderson Lincoln. It's not the only time the choir will be out this month, either—they're taking the same program to other venues across the Valley throughout December, so if the MIM date doesn't work, there are other chances to catch it. Tickets run from $33.50 to $38.50, and the show starts at 7:30 PM.
