Free urban wildlife conservation festival along the Salt River with live wildlife encounters, art projects, guided walks, food, games and prizes.
Nature Fest PHX returns to the Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area on Saturday, November 14, 2026, from 9 AM to 1 PM. It's an Urban Wildlife Conservation Day event that celebrates the city's connection to nature and the Salt River, which is a culturally significant natural resource for the Valley and home to diverse wildlife. The festival is staged right along the river, so you're in the middle of the ecosystem it's celebrating.
Throughout the morning, there are live wildlife encounters, art projects, guided walks, food, games, and prizes. It's a family-friendly outdoor day, and the guided walks give you a chance to see the river's wildlife and learn about the habitat firsthand. Last year, more than 1,000 people and 45 local non-profit environmental organizations turned up, so it's a good place to meet other local groups working on conservation in the Valley.
Beyond the activities, there's a volunteer component: you can spend part of your morning helping protect the habitat along the riverbanks. If you're an early riser, there's a community river clean-up from 8 AM to 9 AM, an hour before the main festival kicks off, for anyone who wants to put in some work before the rest of the day begins.
