Holiday tradition at the Desert Botanical Garden with trails lit by thousands of luminarias, live music, performances and festive food and drinks.
Las Noches de Las Luminarias returns to the Desert Botanical Garden starting Friday, November 27, 2026. It's the Garden's holiday tradition: the trails are lit with thousands of glowing luminarias and twinkling holiday lights, and the nights are filled with live music, performances, and festive food and drinks. The event runs through the end of the year and into early January, with dates on Nov. 27-29, Dec. 4-6, 11-13, 16-23, 26-31, and Jan. 1-3, 2027, from 5 PM to 9:30 PM.
One of the highlights this year is the Plants and People of the Sonoran Desert Trail, featuring Apache storyteller and native flute player Ken Duncan and Liberty Wildlife. The Garden itself is an Arizona icon of more than 84 years, set among 50,000 desert plants at the Papago Buttes and grown into a pioneer of desert conservation. The event runs alongside the Garden's Season for Sharing, an annual charitable giving campaign sponsored by The Arizona Republic and azcentral.com that supports local non-profit agencies.
