Flamenco concert by Latin Grammy-nominated group Las Migas at the Musical Instrument Museum.
Las Migas play the Musical Instrument Museum on Thursday, November 19, as part of an 11-city U.S. tour. They're a Barcelona-based all-female flamenco quartet, and one of Spain's most internationally acclaimed acts. Their sound pulls flamenco in a few different directions, blending it with Latin American music, jazz, classical, and global folk. They've performed in more than 50 countries.
As an all-female band in a genre historically dominated by men, they describe themselves as challenging traditional expectations and championing female creativity, independence, and solidarity. That's a good way to frame what they do—they're working within a deep tradition while pushing it into a space it hasn't always occupied. The group has earned two Latin GRAMMY Awards for Best Flamenco Album, one in 2022 for Libres and another in 2025 for Flamencas.
They've also spent plenty of time collaborating with other big names in the scene. Over the years, they've shared stages and recordings with Estrella Morente, Tomatito, Miguel Poveda, Rozalén, Kevin Johansen, and Josemi Carmona. In 2025, they released their own version of Joan Manuel Serrat's Mediterráneo, a song that's practically a standard in the Spanish-speaking world. The Phoenix date is one stop on an 11-city U.S. tour that kicks off November 3 in Houston, so it's one of the few chances to catch them on this side of the Atlantic.

If you're not familiar with them, it's worth knowing they're not just playing traditional flamenco—the jazz and Latin American influences are a real part of the sound. The Phoenix show is on Thursday, November 19, at the Musical Instrument Museum.
