R&B group Jodeci plays the Arizona Financial Theatre on its 35th Anniversary Tour of 'Forever My Lady'.
Jodeci play the Arizona Financial Theatre on Friday, October 30, as part of their 35th Anniversary Tour of Forever My Lady. The set is built around that first album, which came out in 1991 and went three times platinum.
If you're not familiar with the name, Jodeci was an American group active from 1990 to 1996, and their sound sat right in the middle of R&B, soul, and new jack swing. The lineup brought together two pairs of African-American brothers from Charlotte, North Carolina: the DeGrates—founder and leader Donald 'DeVante Swing' DeGrate and Dalvin DeGrate—and the Haileys, with main lead singer Cedric 'K-Ci' Hailey and second lead singer Joel 'Jo-Jo' Hailey. The group's name is a combination of them all: Jo-Jo, DeVante, Dalvin, and K-Ci.
Forever My Lady was the first of three platinum records they put out during their run. It was followed by 1993's Diary of a Mad Band, which went twice platinum, and 1995's The Show, The After Party, The Hotel, which also hit platinum. Later on, K-Ci and JoJo kept going as a duo with albums like Love Always in 1997 and Emotional in 2002.
