Concert by Jaleo, the Latin music band led by Alvaro and Camilo Moreno, that mixes salsa, Latin jazz, cumbia, merengue, bachata and bolero.
Jaleo plays The Nash on Saturday, October 31, at 7 PM. The group is led by Alvaro and Camilo Moreno, and they specialize in Latin music. They've built a repertoire of more than 300 arrangements, so they cover a wide range of styles in a single set: salsa, Latin jazz, cumbia, merengue, bachata, bolero, and cha cha. They also rework American pop standards with a Latin flair. The sound draws on Afro-Cuban and Colombian influences, and the band describes their shows as a joyful multicultural celebration.
The Nash is an all-ages concert lounge at 110 E Roosevelt St in downtown Phoenix. It's billed as Arizona's number one jazz venue, and it does more than just host shows: it's a learning space where jazz lives on stage and in the classroom, with live music nearly 300 nights a year alongside improvisation classes and community outreach programs in schools across the Greater Phoenix area. There's a cocktail bar on site, and because it's all-ages, you can bring the whole family.
