Local Latin band Jaleo performs a colorful blend of salsa, cumbia, merengue, bachata, bolero, cha-cha, and Latin jazz as part of the Musical Instrument Museum's Fall Concert Series.
Jaleo plays the Musical Instrument Museum on Tuesday, November 24, at 7 PM. They're a local Latin band, and the set is a wide-ranging mix of styles: salsa, cumbia, merengue, bachata, bolero, cha-cha, and Latin jazz. If you've only ever heard one or two of those, this is a good way to hear them all in one night.
That list covers a lot of ground. Salsa and merengue bring the faster, danceable side; cumbia and bachata lean into the rhythmic grooves; bolero is the slower, melodic side; and Latin jazz ties it together. It's a broad sweep of Latin music, and they're playing it all in a single show.

The concert is part of the MIM Music Theater's Fall Concert Series, one of four November performances in the series sponsored by Sanderson Lincoln. Jaleo is the only act on the bill, so the whole night is theirs. The show starts at 7 PM at the Musical Instrument Museum in Phoenix.
