Guild meeting with a presentation on the Heard Museum's year ahead, open to the public.
The Heard Museum Guild is holding its October meeting on Wednesday, October 21, at the Steele Auditorium inside the Heard Museum in Phoenix. The main draw is a presentation by David M. Roche, the Dickey Family Director & CEO of the Heard Museum, titled Voice and Vision: The Heard Museum's Year Ahead. He'll be laying out what's coming up for the museum over the next year, so if you've been following their exhibitions and programs, this is where you'll hear what's next. Following Roche, Karen Abraham, Chair of the Board of Trustees, will also speak.
If you aren't familiar with the Guild, it's a membership group that supports the museum's work. One thing that's worth knowing upfront is that these meetings are open to everyone, not just Guild members. You don't have to be a part of the group to show up and listen. It's a good way to get a sense of how the Guild backs the museum's projects and to hear about the different ways you can get involved if that's something you're interested in.
Between Roche's look at the year ahead and Abraham's remarks, the meeting gives you a direct line to the people running the museum. It's a chance to hear about the museum's direction straight from the CEO and the board chair, rather than reading about it in a press release later. If you're a regular at the Heard, it's a good way to see what's on the horizon for the coming months.
