Free, family-friendly fall celebration at Deer Valley Park with live entertainment, costume contests, candy and treats.
Fall-o-Ween comes to Deer Valley Park on Saturday, October 17, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It's a family-friendly fall celebration put on by the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation Department, and it's one of several free events they're staging across the city as the parks shift into autumn.
The evening is built around a few classic Halloween activities. There's live entertainment and costume contests, and plenty of candy and treats for the kids. It's the kind of low-stakes, neighborhood-style outing that works well for families: you dress up, walk around, and let the kids run off some energy. The costume contest is a good excuse to actually put in the effort with the outfits, and the live entertainment keeps things moving while you're there.
Fall-o-Ween is part of a larger push from the Parks and Recreation Department this season. Along with this, they're running community trunk-or-treats, lively inflatables, and spooky attractions at parks all over Phoenix, so if you're in the mood for a few different celebrations, this is just one stop on a longer list. The whole thing is designed for families, and the atmosphere is more about the festive side of the season than the scary side.
