Nighttime garden tour featuring glowing pathways, seasonal botanical displays, illuminated installations, and fall decor with frozen cocktails and mocktails.
Fall Garden After Dark is running now through November 15 at the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix, with the trails open from sunset until 10 PM. It's the nighttime version of the garden's fall season, so the paths light up after dark and the botanical displays and installations stay lit well into the evening.
There's a lot to see across the grounds. The Super Bloom art exhibit by Graphic Rewilding brings 21 outdoor installations, and the glass houses are filled with floral scenes. The garden's fall decor is out too: pumpkin trees, gourd towers, garlands, and handcrafted botanical wreaths. If you're into the natural side of things, the fall season also brings more than 1,000 Southwestern butterflies, including monarchs, and docent-led tours run daily.
Between the walks, you can grab a frozen cocktail or mocktail and eat at Gertrude's by Tarbell's. The Garden Shop has art by Will Beger on sale. Since it runs from sunset to 10 PM, you've got a good window to wander through the installations and the gardens after the heat of the day has dropped.
