Mogley & The Zonies, Dr. Rocket (acoustic) and The Rebounds

Dr. Rocket is playing an acoustic set at King Pigeon Thrift & Vintage on Thursday, October 22, with Mogley & The Zonies and The Rebounds on the bill. The night starts at 7:30 PM, and it's free entry.

Dr. Rocket is the Seattle-based alt-rock project of Nick Carver, and the music tends to wander across a few different maps at once. There's the punk-infused lo-fi rock of "Everybody Runs Away" and "I Can't Seem To Win," the old-school country crooning of "Boat Don't Float" and "Company," and the avant-garde psych oddities of "I Am A Bird" and "Diamonds." It's a home-recording sound with sharp, playful songwriting at the center, and this particular show strips it back to an acoustic version.

Carver's work has picked up airplay from KEXP's DJ Shannon and Space 101.1's Mitch Etter, and has been featured in publications like Obscure Sound, Iggy Magazine, American Pancake, and The Scope Of. His most recent album, Buoy, came out on April 18, 2025, so there's new material in the mix alongside the older stuff.

With Mogley & The Zonies and The Rebounds sharing the bill, there are three acts on the program. It's all at King Pigeon Thrift & Vintage in Phoenix, starting at 7:30 PM, and entry is free.
